Terry Schulz, retired Wildlife Biologist, will present a slide show about the Biology, Natural history, Adaptations and behavior of North American Owls.
Personal accounts of experiences working with owls for over 20 years as a Research Associate, lecturer in Zoological medicine and Wildlife diseases and supervisor of the UC Davis Raptor Center. There are dozens of books on owls and yet we have barely scratched the surface concerning their Biology and natural history. A discussion of how owls are superbly adapted structurally, functionally, behaviorally, and ecologically.
Causes of mortality and population decline of the Barn Owl, Burrowing owl and Short-eared owl will be discussed as well as ideas for improving their status. ******************************************************************************************************
